Jim River Ranch is a
working cattle and horse ranch, located in the Jim River valley, near
Redfield, South Dakota. Jim River Ranch has been owned and
operated by the Wright family for over 70 years.
 The emphasis at Jim River
Ranch is to re-establish the native prairie grasses of Heartland
America, which
just happens to be the best pheasant habitat in South Dakota!
South Dakota is a wildlife Mecca! We are
committed to offering you a South Dakota hunting experience that stands
apart from any others! Jim River Ranch can provide you the opportunity to
hunt all of the wild life that South Dakota has to offer. Upland game
consisting of pheasant, Hungarian partridge, dove, Sharptail grouse.
Waterfowl, including eight species of duck, Giant Canadian geese, snows and
blues. During our sharptail hunts we always settle in on a few prairie dogs!
Big game hunts include pronghorn antelope, white tail and mule deer and the

Our endeavor is to insure

You’ll wake up every day
to a ranch style breakfast fit for any cowboy. Followed by some time to hone
your shooting skill on the trap range, or your golf game on the local public
links, at Fishers Grove, just 5 minutes from the Ranch.
Lunch and soft drinks will be packed for
the afternoon pheasant hunt, covering thousands of acres of privately owned
land.
Following one of the best days of
pheasant hunting of your life, you’ll relax at the lodge, and if you
choose, enjoy your favorite cocktail and one of the best cigars available on
earth.
 Country
style, home cooked dinners will be served each evening, followed by relaxing
by the fireplace, big screen TV or in the recreation room. Enjoy the hot
tub before retiring to your room for the night.
Wireless internet access is provided
throughout the lodge, and in each of the six guest rooms. The guest
rooms can be arranged any way that you would like, singles or doubles.
The lodge also features five shared bathrooms.
While you are recharging,
for the next days activities, your game and pheasants will be cleaned, packed and frozen,
ready for transportation.

One
of the most memorable experiences of being at Jim River Ranch is the 710
mile long James River. With a state fishing license you can reel in Walleye,
Northern Pike, Carp (the best fighter of them all!) and lots of Bullheads,
(no, we don’t fish with traps or dynamite anymore!) Or, you can just motor
up or down the river and back. Not many experiences can put you more in
touch with nature, than traveling on the superhighway used by the Native
American Indians, just a couple of generations ago!
